Inspection Procedure

NOTE: When replacing the yaw rate sensor assembly, perform zero point calibration (See CALIBRATION ).

HINT:

When U0123, U0124 and/or U0126 is output together with C1436, inspect and repair the trouble areas indicated by U0123, U0124 and/or U0126 first (See DTC U0073 CONTROL MODULE COMMUNICATION BUS OFF; DTC U0100 LOST COMMUNICATION WITH ECM / PCM; DTC U0123 LOST COMMUNICATION WITH YAW RATE SENSOR MODULE; DTC U0124 LOST COMMUNICATION WITH LATERAL ACCELERATION SENSOR MODULE; DTC U0126 LOST COMMUNICATION WITH STEERING ANGLE SENSOR MODULE ).

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (YAW RATE SENSOR)
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG).
    3. Select the Data List mode on the Techstream (See DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST ).

      ABS/VSC/TRAC

      ABS/VSC/TRAC REFERENCE CHART

Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Yaw Rate Sensor Yaw rate sensor 1 reading / min.: -128 deg/s, max.: 127 deg/s Vehicle stationary: 0 deg/s

    RESULT CHART

    Result Proceed to
NG The yaw rate and deceleration sensor output value is 0 deg/s when the vehicle is stationary, but the value fluctuates when turning. A
The yaw rate and deceleration sensor output value is not 0 deg/s when the vehicle is stationary. B
    OK C
NOTE: Check the yaw rate and deceleration sensor signal after replacement (See TEST MODE PROCEDURE ).

    HINT:

If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE ).

B : REPLACE YAW RATE SENSOR ASSEMBLY  (See YAW RATE AND DECELERATION SENSOR )

C : CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS (SYMPTOM SIMULATION)  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

A : Go to Next Step

  2. CHECK YAW RATE AND DECELERATION SENSOR INSTALLATION
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Check that the yaw rate and deceleration sensor has been installed properly (See INSPECTION ).

OK: The sensor should be tightened to the specified torque.

The sensor should not be installed in a tilted position.

NG : INSTALL YAW RATE AND DECELERATION SENSOR CORRECTLY  (See INSPECTION )

OK : REPLACE YAW RATE SENSOR ASSEMBLY  (See YAW RATE AND DECELERATION SENSOR )
