Inspection Procedure

NOTE: When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration (See CALIBRATION ).
  1. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION OF YAW RATE AND DECELERATION SENSOR
    1. Perform zero point calibration of the yaw rate and deceleration sensor (See CALIBRATION ).

    HINT:

    • When the stored zero point of the yaw rate and deceleration sensor is cleared, steering angle sensor zero point will also be cleared.
    • If the zero point and output value of the yaw rate and deceleration sensor and the output value of the speed sensors are not normal, steering angle sensor zero point cannot be acquired normally even if the vehicle is driven straight ahead at 35 km/h (22 mph) or more.

    NEXT

  2. CHECK STEERING ANGLE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Start the engine.
    3. Drive the vehicle straight ahead at 35 km/h (22 mph) or more for at least 5 seconds.
    4. Check that the center position of the steering wheel is correctly set while driving straight ahead.

    HINT:

If front wheel alignment and steering position are adjusted as a result of an abnormal center position of the steering wheel, acquire yaw rate and deceleration sensor zero point again after adjusting front wheel alignment and steering position again.

OK: The center position of the steering wheel is correctly set.

NG : ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT OR STEERING POSITION  (See FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT )

OK : Go to Next Step

  3. RECONFIRM DTC
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Clear the DTCs (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).
    3. Start the engine.
    4. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 35 km/h (22 mph) or more and turn the steering wheel to the right and left.
    5. Check if the same DTC is output (See DTC CHECK / CLEAR ).

    HINT:

If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE ).

B : REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
