On-Vehicle Inspection

  1. INSPECT STARTER RELAY 
    1. Check the resistance.
      1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

        Standard Resistance 

        RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        3 - 5 Battery voltage is not applied to terminals 1 and 2. 10 kΩ or higher
        3 - 5 Battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2. Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the relay.

  2. INSPECT ACC RELAY 
    1. Check the resistance.
      1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

        Standard Resistance 

        RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        3 - 5 Battery voltage is not applied to terminals 1 and 2. 10 kΩ or higher
        3 - 5 Battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2. Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the relay.

  3. INSPECT ACC CUT RELAY 
    1. Check the resistance.
      1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

        Standard Resistance 

        RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        3 - 4 Battery voltage is not applied to terminals 1 and 2. Below 1 Ω
        3 - 4 Battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2. 10 kΩ or higher
        3 - 5 Battery voltage is not applied to terminals 1 and 2. 10 kΩ or higher
        3 - 5 Battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2. Below 1 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the relay.
