Shift Lever: Removal

REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE FRONT UPPER CONSOLE BOX (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE NO. 2 SWITCH HOLE BASE (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET
REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL (See REMOVAL )
DISCONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
1. Move the shift lever to N.
2. Disconnect the end of the transmission control cable assembly from the shift lever assembly.

3. Pull out the stopper of the transmission control cable.
  NOTE: Do not remove the stopper. If the stopper is removed, reinstall it to its original position.

4. Rotate the nut counterclockwise approximately 180° and, while holding the nut in that position, disconnect the transmission control cable from the shift lever retainer.
NOTE: Do not over-rotate the nut as it will come off the internal spring and the transmission control cable will not be reusable.
REMOVE SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY

Disconnect the 2 connectors and 2 clamps from the shift lever assembly.

Remove the 4 nuts and shift lever assembly.
