Fuel Sender Gauge Assembly: Inspection

  1. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) 
    1. Check that the float moves smoothly between F and E.
    2. Measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of the connector according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Float Level Specified Condition
      F 13.5 to 16.5
      Between E and F 13.5 to 414.5 (Gradually changes)
      E 405.5 to 414.5

      If the value is not as specified, replace the fuel sender gauge assembly.

  2. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY (for 4WD) 
    1. Check that the float moves smoothly between F and E.

    2. Measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of the connector according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Float Level Specified Condition
      F 5.5 to 8.5
      Between E and F 5.5 to 245.7 (Gradually changes)
      E 240.7 to 245.7

      If the value is not as specified, replace the fuel sender gauge assembly.

  3. REMOVE FUEL SENDER GAGE RH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check that the float moves smoothly between F and E.

    2. Measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 2 of the connector according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION CHART

      Float Level Specified Condition
      F 5.5 to 8.5
      Between E and F 5.5 to 168.8 (Gradually changes)
      E 164.8 to 168.8

      If the value is not as specified, replace the fuel sender gauge RH assembly.
