Front Seat Assembly: Disassembly

CAUTION: Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the parts may injure your hands.

HINT:

  1. REMOVE SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB 
    1. Apply protective tape around the cushion shield.
    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the knob.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  2. REMOVE RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB 
    1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the knob.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH 
    1. Remove the 2 rubber bands from the hooks.
    2. Remove the 2 screws.

    3. Remove the 3 screws.
    4. Detach the 2 claws and remove the cushion shield.
    5. for Driver Side:

      Disconnect the lumbar switch connectors.

  4. REMOVE FRONT INNER NO. 1 SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Detach the claw and remove the cushion shield.

  5. REMOVE LUMBAR SWITCH (Driver Side) 
    1. Remove the 2 screws and switch.
  6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH  (See REMOVAL )

  7. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Detach the 2 claws and clip, and then remove the cushion shield.

  8. REMOVE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH LH 
    1. for Driver Side:

      Disconnect the 2 connectors.

    2. for Front Passenger Side:

      Disconnect the connector.

    3. Remove the 3 screws and switch.

  9. REMOVE SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD 
    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

    2. Disconnect the seat heater connector and detach the 2 wire harness clamps.

    3. Disconnect the seat heater control connector and detach the wire harness clamp.

    4. Bend the 2 seat frame claws upward.
    5. Detach the hooks and remove the seat cushion cover with pad.
  10. REMOVE FRONT SEPARATE TYPE SEAT CUSHION COVER 
    NOTE:
    • As the front passenger side seat has an occupant classification system, its front seat cushion cannot be disassembled.
    • If replacing the front passenger side seat, replace the seat set (cushion set, occupant detection sensor, occupant classification ECU and 2 nuts).

    1. Remove the hog rings and front seat cushion cover.
  11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION HEATER ASSEMBLY LH 
    NOTE:
    • As the front passenger side seat has an occupant classification system, its front seat cushion cannot be disassembled.
    • If replacing the front passenger side seat, replace the seat set (cushion set, occupant detection sensor, occupant classification ECU and 2 nuts).

    1. Cut off the tack pins which fasten the seat heater to the seat cushion cover, and then remove the seat cushion heater from the seat cushion cover.

  12. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the 2 screws.
    2. Move the seatback board in the direction of the arrow to detach the 2 hooks and remove the seatback board.

  13. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST SUPPORT 
    1. Detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 headrest supports.

  14. REMOVE SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD 
    1. Remove the 3 hog rings and detach the 9 hooks.

    2. Remove the nut and seatback cover bracket from the seat frame.
    3. Remove the seatback cover with pad.

  15. REMOVE FRONT SEPARATE TYPE SEATBACK COVER 
    1. Disconnect the seatback cover bracket from the seatback pad.

    2. Remove the hog rings.
    3. Detach the fastening tape and remove the seatback cover.

  16. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK HEATER ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Cut off the tack pins which fasten the seatback heater to the seatback cover, and then remove the seatback heater from the seatback cover.

  17. REMOVE INSIDE RECLINING ADJUSTER COVER LH 
    1. Detach the wire harness clamp.
    2. Remove the 2 screws.
    3. Detach the claw and remove the reclining adjuster cover.
  18. REMOVE INSIDE RECLINING ADJUSTER COVER RH 
    1. Detach the wire harness clamp.
    2. Remove the 2 screws.
    3. Detach the claw and remove the reclining adjuster cover.

  19. REMOVE OUTSIDE RECLINING ADJUSTER COVER LH 
    1. Remove the screw and detach the claw, and then remove the reclining adjuster cover.
  20. REMOVE OUTSIDE RECLINING ADJUSTER COVER RH 
    1. Remove the screw and detach the claw, and then remove the reclining adjuster cover.

  21. REMOVE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY LH (Driver Side) 
    1. Remove the 4 springs.
    2. Detach the 4 hooks and remove the seatback spring.

    3. Disconnect the lumbar support adjuster connector.
    4. Remove the 2 screws and lumbar support adjuster.

    5. Detach the 3 claws and remove the bush from the seat frame.

  22. REMOVE LOWER ACTIVE HEADREST UNIT 
    1. Remove the 8 nuts, and then remove the lower active headrest unit together with the upper active headrest unit.

  23. REMOVE UPPER ACTIVE HEADREST UNIT 
    1. Remove the nut and cable clamp to remove the upper active headrest unit from the lower active headrest unit.

  24. REMOVE FRONT LOWER SEAT CUSHION SHIELD LH 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Detach the hook and remove the lower cushion shield.
  25. REMOVE FRONT LOWER SEAT CUSHION SHIELD RH 
    1. Remove the screw.
    2. Detach the hook and remove the lower cushion shield.

  26. REMOVE SEAT HEATER CONTROL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the seat heater control connector and detach the clamp.
    2. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the seat heater control.
  27. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU (Front Passenger Side)  (See REMOVAL )
  28. REMOVE SEAT POSITION SENSOR  (See REMOVAL )
  29. REMOVE FRONT SEAT WIRE LH
