STEERING ANGLE SENSOR (w/ VSC): Installation

  1. INSTALL STEERING ANGLE SENSOR 
    1. Align the 2 locating pins, engage the 6 claws, and install the steering angle sensor to the spiral cable.

  2. INSTALL SPIRAL CABLE WITH STEERING ANGLE SENSOR  (See INSTALLATION )
  3. INSTALL UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER  (See INSTALLATION )
  4. INSTALL LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER  (See INSTALLATION )
  5. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  6. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE  (See INSTALLATION )
  7. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  8. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT 
  9. INSTALL STEERING PAD  (See INSTALLATION )
  10. INSTALL LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER  (See DISPOSAL )
  11. INSTALL LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER  (See DISPOSAL )
  12. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE: When reconnecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal after installing the steering sensor, check that the front tires and steering wheel are kept aligned straight ahead before and after connecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
  13. INSPECT STEERING PAD  (See DISPOSAL )
  14. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
