Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT 
    1. Remove the back door power window regulator switch connector.
    2. Check for DTC.

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      B1241 output reoccurs A
      B1241 output does not reoccur B

      B: REPLACE BACK DOOR POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH 

      A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SWITCH - BODY ECU) (SWITCH - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the B5 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the B18 switch connector.
    3. Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONNECTION REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Connection
      B18-3 - B5-10 Continuity
      B18-2 - B5-8 Continuity
    4. Check the resistance between the B18 back door switch connector and the body ground.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONNECTION REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Connection
      B18-3 - Body Ground No continuity
      B18-2 - Body Ground No continuity

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

      OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT 
    1. Remove the air conditioning control (defogger switch) connector.
    2. Check for DTC.

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      B1241 output reoccurs A
      B1241 output does not reoccur B

      B: REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL  (See REMOVAL )

      A: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SWITCH - BODY ECU) (SWITCH - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the B5 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the D3 air conditioning control connector.
    3. Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONNECTION REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Connection
      D3-4 - B5-1 Continuity
      D3-11 - B5-5 Continuity
    4. Check the resistance between the B3 switch connector and the body ground.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONNECTION REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Connection
      D3-4 - Body ground No continuity
      D3-11 - Body ground No continuity

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

      OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK DTC OUTPUT 
    1. Remove the windshield wiper switch connector.
    2. Check for DTC.

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      B1241 output reoccurs A
      B1241 output does not reoccur B

      B: REPLACE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH  (See REMOVAL )

      A: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SWITCH - BODY ECU) (SWITCH - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the B6 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the C14 switch connector.
    3. Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONNECTION REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Connection
      C14-10 - B6-10 Continuity
      C14-13 - B6-9 Continuity
    4. Check the resistance between the C14 switch connector and the body ground.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONNECTION REFERENCE CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Connection
      C14-10 - Body ground No continuity
      C14-13 - Body ground No continuity

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

      OK: REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK (BODY ECU)
