Rear Shock Absorber: Removal

  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL 
  2. REMOVE DECK BOARD NO. 2 
  3. REMOVE DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  4. REMOVE DECK FLOOR BOX REAR (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  5. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRAY (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  6. REMOVE SHOCK ABSORBER HEAD COVER 
  7. REMOVE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING 
    1. Support the rear axle beam assembly with jack.

    2. Remove the 2 nuts and bolt.

    3. Remove the nut, rear shock absorber LH cushion retainer and rear shock absorber with coil spring.

  8. REMOVE SHOCK ABSORBER ASSEMBLY REAR LH 
    1. Using SST, compress the coil spring rear LH.

      SST 09727-30021 

      NOTE: Do not use an impact wrench. It will damage the SST.

    2. Use a 6 mm hexagon wrench to hold the piston rod and remove the nut.
    3. Remove the rear shock absorber cushion washer No. 1, rear suspension support, rear spring front bracket sub-assembly LH, LH support assembly rear suspension, rear coil spring insulator upper LH, rear spring bumper No. 1 LH and coil spring rear LH.
