Combination Meter: Removal

  1. DISABLE AUTO TILT AWAY FUNCTION 
    1. Disable the Autoaway/Return function by changing the customize parameter (See CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS ).
      NOTE: Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the Autoaway/Return function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing the operation.

      HINT:

      Performing the above operation causes the Autoaway/Return function to be disabled when the engine switch is turned off.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully extend and lower the steering column assembly.
    3. Turn the engine switch off.
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
  3. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH 
    1. Place protective tape as shown in the illustration (Fig 1).
    2. Using a molding remover, detach the 3 claws and remove the panel garnish.

  4. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL CUSHION 
    1. Place protective tape as shown in the illustration (Fig 2).
    2. Using a molding remover, detach the 7 claws and remove the panel cushion.

  5. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL PAD SUBASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the clip.
    2. Remove the screw.
    3. Detach the 8 claws.
    4. Remove the panel pad and disconnect the connectors and 2 clamps.

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH 
    1. Place protective tape as shown in the illustration (Fig 4).
    2. Using a molding remover, detach the 2 claws and remove the panel garnish.

  7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Detach the 4 claws.

    2. Detach the 9 claws.

    3. Remove the finish panel and disconnect the connector.

  8. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 4 screws.

    2. Disconnect the connectors, and remove the combination meter by pulling it up in the direction of the arrow in the illustration (Fig 9).
