Inspection Procedure

  1. INSPECT ECM 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the ECM.
    2. Turn the ignition switch on.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      ECM

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E5-10 -Body ground Clutch pedal depressed Below 1 V
      E5-10-Body ground Clutch pedal released 10 to 14 V

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  

    NG: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  2. INSPECT CLUTCH SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the clutch switch connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      CLUTCH SWITCH ASSEMBLY

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Switch pin free (Clutch pedal depressed) 10 kΩ or higher
      1 - 2 Switch pin pushed in (Clutch pedal released) Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE CLUTCH SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C13-2 - E5-10 Always Below 1 Ω
      E5-10 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - CLUTCH SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
