Transmission Control Cable: Removal

DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE REAR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (See INSTALLATION )
SEPARATE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the 2 clips and disconnect the end of the transmission control cable.

2. Pull out the control cable assembly locks.

3. Turn the adjust nut 180° clockwise. While holding the adjust nut, separate the control cable assembly.

REMOVE AIR CONDITIONER UNIT ASSEMBLY

REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE BATTERY (See REMOVAL )
REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
1. Remove the 2 clips and 2 washers and disconnect the 2 cables from the transaxle.
2. Remove the 2 clips and disconnect the 2 cables from the control cable bracket.
3. Remove the 2 bolts and control cable assembly.
4. Remove the No. 2 shift cable grommet retainer from the control cable assembly.
