On-Vehicle Inspection

INSPECT CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY

Check the operation.

Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the intelligent tester ON.
Start the engine and warm it up.
Select the following menu items: DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / ACTIVE TEST / VVT CTRL B1.

Operate the OCV using the hand-held tester, then check the engine speed.

Standard

STANDARD REFERENCE CHART

Tester Operation	Specified Condition
OCV OFF	Normal engine speed
OCV ON	Rough Idling engine stalls

If the operation is not specified, check the camshaft timing oil control valve, wire harness and ECM.
