Section 12 (Emission Control System): Canister: Installation

  1. INSTALL CANISTER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the canister with the 3 bolts.

      Torque: 14.7 Nm (150 kgf cm, 11 ft. lbf)

    2. Connect the 2 tubes and hose.

      1. Connect the air inlet line tube to the canister (leak detection pump).
      2. Connect the vent line tube to the canister filter.
      3. Connect the purge line hose.

        HINT:

        Install the hose to the canister, and then attach the retainer.

    3. Connect the connector.
    4. Secure the wire with the clamp.
  2. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  3. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization (see INITIALIZATION ).
      NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
