Transmission Control Cable Assembly: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  2. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY W/ PASSENGER AIR BAG ASSEMBLY 

    HINT:

    (See REMOVAL )

  3. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the nut from the control shaft lever.
    2. Disconnect the control cable from the control shaft lever.

    3. Remove the clip and disconnect the control cable from the control cable bracket.

    4. Disconnect the control cable from the control cable clamp.

    5. Disconnect the cable end from the rod of the floor shift assembly.

    6. Remove the 2 nuts.

    7. Remove the 3 bolts.
    8. Pull out the control cable from the body.
