Automatic Transaxle Assembly: Removal

1. Remove the bolt and the transmission control cable bracket No.2.

1. Disconnect the wire harnesses from the 2 clamps.
2. Remove the 4 bolts and 4 clamps.

1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the wire harness.

1. Disconnect the connector (1).
2. Remove the nut (2) and disconnect the starter wire.
3. Remove the 2 bolts (3) and starter assembly.

1. Disconnect the transmission wire connector.
2. Disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector.
3. Disconnect the 2 transmission revolution sensor connectors.

1. Remove the 2 bolts and transmission control cable bracket No. 1.

1. Remove the ATF level gauge.
2. Remove the bolt and oil cooler tube clamp.
3. Disconnect the breather hose.
4. Remove the bolt and transmission oil filler tube sub-assembly.
5. Remove the O-ring from the oil filler tube sub-assembly.

1. Using SST and a wrench, disconnect the oil cooler inlet tube No.1.

   SST 09023-12701

1. Using SST and a wrench, disconnect the oil cooler outlet tube No.1.

   SST 09023-12701 

1. Remove the 3 bolts and engine mounting bracket front.

1. Remove the 2 bolts.

2. Remove the exhaust pipe support bracket and flywheel under cover from the automatic transaxle.
3. Turn the crankshaft to gain access and remove the 6 bolts while holding the crankshaft pulley bolt with a wrench.

   HINT:

   There will be one green colored bolt.

4. Remove the 10 bolts.
5. Separate and remove the automatic transaxle.

1. Put matchmarks on the transaxle case and torque converter clutch assembly.

2. Remove the torque converter clutch assembly from the automatic transaxle assembly.
