Throttle Body: Removal

  1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (See appropriate step(s) under  COOLANT  ). 
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
  3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See appropriate step(s) under  REMOVAL  ). 
  4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY (See appropriate step(s) under  REMOVAL  ). 
  5. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY 
    1. Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses from the throttle body.

    2. Disconnect the control motor connector.
    3. Remove the 4 bolts and throttle body and wire harness clamp stay.
    4. Remove the gasket from the intake air surge tank.
