Inspection Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2006 Toyota Matrix. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. CHECK DLC3
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in DLC3  .

      Standard resistance

      DLC3

Tester connection Condition Specified value Result
      D1-6 (CANH) - D1-14 (CANL) IG switch OFF 108 to 132 Ω A
      D1-6 (CANH) - D1-14 (CANL) IG switch OFF 132 Ω or higher B

NOTE: When the measured value is 132 Ω or more and the CAN communication system diagnostic code is output, there may be a fault besides disconnection of the DLC3 sub bus line. For that reason, troubleshooting should be performed again from "How to proceed with troubleshooting" after repairing the trouble area.

B: REPAIR OR REPLACE DLC3 SUB BUS LINE OR CONNECTOR (CAN-H, CAN-L)

    A: GO TO NEXT STEP

  2. CHECK CAN MAIN BUS LINE (SKID CONTROL ECU - JUNCTION CONNECTOR)
    1. Disconnect the connector (J13) from the junction connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in SKID CONTROL ECU - JUNCTION CONNECTOR  .

      Standard resistance

SKID CONTROL ECU - JUNCTION CONNECTOR

      Tester Connection Condition Specified value
      J13-4 (CANH) - J13-15 (CANL) IG switch OFF 108 to 132 Ω

    NG: Go to step  4

    OK: GO TO NEXT STEP

  3. CHECK STEERING SENSOR
    1. Disconnect the connector (S12) from the steering sensor.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in STEERING SENSOR  .

      Standard resistance

      STEERING SENSOR
