Stop Light Switch: Inspection

  1. INSPECT STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (WITHOUT CRUISE CONTROL) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE (1 OF 2)

      Switch operation Specified resistance
      Switch pin free 10 kΩ or higher
      Switch pin pushed in Below 1 Ω
  2. INSPECT STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (WITH CRUISE CONTROL) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE (2 OF 2)

      Tester connection Switch operation Specified resistance
      1 - 2 Switch pin free 10 kΩ or higher
      3 - 4 Switch pin free Below 1 Ω
      1 - 2 Switch pin pushed in Below 1 Ω
      3 - 4 Switch pin pushed in 10 kΩ or higher
