Windshield/Window Glass: Removal
HINT:
While supporting the hood by hand, remove the hood support from the hood.
- REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR
Remove the inner rear view mirror as shown in the illustration.
- REMOVE ASSIST GRIPS
- Using a screwdriver, remove the caps.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Driver side:
Using a torx:® driver, remove the 2 torx® screws and assist grip.
Torx® driver: T30 (Part No.09041-00030 or locally manufactured tool)
- Standard cab, Access cab, Passenger side:
Using a torx® driver, remove the 4 torx® screws and 2 assist grips.
Torx® driver: T30 (Part No.09041-00030 or locally manufactured tool)
- Double cab cab, Passenger side:
Using a torx® driver, remove the 2 torx® screws and assist grips.
Torx® driver: T30 (Part No.09041-00030 or locally manufactured tool)
- Using a screwdriver, remove the caps.
- REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH
- Using a screwdriver, remove the front pillar garnish.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Employ the same manner described above to the other side.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the front pillar garnish.
- REMOVE SUN VISORS
- Remove the 4 screws and 2 sun visors.
- w/ Light:
Disconnect the connector.
- REMOVE SUN-VISORS
Remove the 4 screws and 2 sun-visors.
- REMOVE FRONT PERSONAL LIGHT
- Using a screwdriver, remove the left side lens.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Using a screwdriver, rotate the clip by 90d° and remove it.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Remove the front personal light, then disconnect the connector.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the left side lens.
- w/ Sliding roof:
REMOVE ROOF CONSOLE BOX
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the roof console box.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Disconnect the connectors.
- w/o Sliding roof:
REMOVE ROOF CONSOLE BOX
- Remove the 4 screws.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the roof console box.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Disconnect the connectors.
- REMOVE SUN VISOR HOLDERS
Remove the 2 screws and 2 sun visor holders.
- REMOVE FRONT PART OF ROOF HEADLINING
- REMOVE WIPER ARMS
- Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 caps.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Remove the 2 nuts and wiper arms.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 caps.
- REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER
- Remove the hood to cowl top seal.
- Using a clip remover, remove the 6 clips.
- Remove the 8 screws and cowl top ventilator louver.
- REMOVE FRONT PART OF ROOF SIDE RAIL WEATHERSTRIP LH AND RH
Using SST, pull off the roof side rail weatherstrip from front end.
SST 09806-30010
- REMOVE WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOLDING
- Remove the 4 screws and windshield outside molding.
- Perform the same procedure on the other side.
- w/ Standard cab, Access cab:
REMOVE WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE UPPER MOLDING
- Using a knife, cut off the molding as shown in the illustration.NOTE: Do not damage the body with the knife.
- Remove the remaining molding.
- Using a knife, cut off the molding as shown in the illustration.
- w/Double cab:
REMOVE WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE UPPER MOLDING
Using a knife, cut off the molding as shown in the illustration.
NOTE: Do not damage the body with the knife. - REMOVE WINDSHIELD GLASS
- Push piano wire through between the body and glass from the interior.
- Tie both wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects.
HINT:
Apply protective tape to the outer surface to keep the surface from being scratched.

NOTE: When separating the glass, take care not to damage the paint and exterior ornaments. To prevent scratching the safety pad when removing the windshield, place a plastic sheet between the piano wire and safety pad. - Cut the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around it.
- Remove the glass.
NOTE: Leave as much of the adhesive on the body as possible when cutting off the glass.
