Inspection Procedure

CAUTION: Be sure to perform the following procedures before troubleshooting to avoid unexpected airbag deployment.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
  3. Disconnect the connectors from the airbag sensor assy center.
  4. Disconnect the connectors from the horn button assy.
  5. Disconnect the connector from the front passenger airbag assy.
  6. W/Side and curtain shield airbag:

    Disconnect the connector from the front seat airbag assy LH.

  7. W/Side and curtain shield airbag:

    Disconnect the connector from the front seat airbag assy RH.

  8. W/Side and curtain shield airbag:

    Disconnect the connector from the curtain shield airbag assy LH.

  9. W/Side and curtain shield airbag:

    Disconnect the connector from the curtain shield airbag assy RH.

  10. Disconnect the connector from the front seat outer belt assy LH.
  11. Disconnect the connector from the front seat outer belt assy RH.
  1. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DLC3 - AIRBAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.
    SPECIFIED CONDITION (1 OF 3)

    Tester connection Condition Specified condition
    D1-13 (TC)-A13-15 (TC) Always Below 1 Ω

    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS (TC of DLC3 - TC of AIRBAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER) 

    OK: Go To Next Step 

  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (CG of DLC3 - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

    SPECIFIED CONDITION (2 OF 3)

    Tester connection Condition Specified condition
    D1-4 (CG)-Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS (CG of DLC3 - BODY GROUND) 

    OK: Go To Next Step 

  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TC of AIRBAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

    SPECIFIED CONDITION (3 OF 3)

    Tester connection Condition Specified condition
    A13-15 (TC)- Body ground Always 1 MΩ or Higher
    1. NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRE HARNESS OR EACH ECU 

    OK: Go To Next Step 

    REPLACE AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER (See  REPLACEMENT  )
