Fail Safe

The ECM cuts off the throttle actuator current, and the throttle valve is controlled by the throttle cable.

The ECM then adjusts the engine output by regulating both the fuel injection (intermittent fuel-cut) and ignition timing in accordance with the accelerator pedal opening angle so that the vehicle can continue to be driven at a minimal speed.
