Power Mirror Control System: Inspection

INSPECT MIRROR SWITCH CONTINUITY

MIRROR SWITCH CONTINUITY (LEFT SIDE FOR LEFT/RIGHT ADJUSTMENT SWITCH)

Switch position	Tester connection	Specified condition
OFF	-	No continuity
UP	3 - 7 5 - 6	Continuity
DOWN	3 - 6 5 - 7	Continuity
LEFT	4 - 7 5 - 6	Continuity
RIGHT	5 - 7 4 - 6	Continuity

MIRROR SWITCH CONTINUITY (RIGHT SIDE FOR LEFT/RIGHT ADJUSTMENT SWITCH)

Switch position	Tester connection	Specified condition
OFF	-	No continuity
UP	2 - 7 5 - 6	Continuity
DOWN	2 - 6 5 - 7	Continuity
LEFT	1 - 7 5 - 6	Continuity
RIGHT	1 - 6 5 - 7	Continuity

If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

INSPECT MIRROR MOTOR OPERATION
1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1, and check that the mirror turns to the right side.

2. Reverse the polarity, and check that the mirror turns to the left side.

3. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 5, and check that the mirror turns downward.

4. Reverse the polarity, and check that the mirror turns upward.
If operation is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.
