Quarter Window Glass: Installation
- CLEAN AND SHAPE CONTACT SURFACE OF BODY
- Using a knife, cut away any rough areas on the body.NOTE: Leave the adhesive on the body as much as possible.
- Clean the cut surface of the adhesive with a shop rag saturated in cleaner.
NOTE: Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the body. - Using a knife, cut away any rough areas on the body.
- CLEAN CONTACT SURFACE OF NEW GLASS
Using a cleaner, clean the contact surface around the entire glass rim.
NOTE: Do not touch the glass face after cleaning it. - INSTALL NEW DAMS
Install new dams with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.
- A: 5.1 mm (0.201 in.)
- B: 7.2 mm (0.283 in.)
- COAT CONTACT SURFACE OF BODY WITH PRIMER "M"
Using a brush, coat Primer M to the exposed part of body on the vehicle side.
NOTE:- Let the primer coating dry for 3 minutes or more.
- Do not coat Primer M to the adhesive.
- Do not keep any of the opened Primer M for later use.
- COAT CONTACT SURFACE OF GLASS WITH PRIMER "G"
- Using a brush or sponge, coat the edge of the glass and the contact surface with Primer G as shown in the illustration on the following section.
- When the primer is coated wrongly to the area other than the specified, wipe it off with a clean shop rag before the primer dries.
NOTE:- Let the primer coating dry for 3 minutes or more.
- Do not keep any of the opened Primer G for later use.
- APPLY ADHESIVE
- Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle.
- Part No. 08850-00801 or equivalent.
NOTE: After cutting off the tip, use all adhesive within the time described in the table below.ADHESIVE APPLYING TIME DESCRIBINGTemperature Tackfree Time 35 °C (95 °F) 15 Minutes 20 °C (68 °F) 100 Minutes 5 °C (41 °F) 8 Hours - Load the cartridge into the sealer gun.
- Coat the glass with adhesive as shown in the illustration on the following section.
- Adhesive height: 13.5 mm (0.531 in.)
- Adhesive width: 8.0 mm (0.315 in.)
- Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle.
- INSTALL GLASS
- Install the glass to the body.
- Hold the glass in place securely with a protective tape or equivalent until the adhesive hardens.
NOTE: Take care not to drive the vehicle during the time described in the table below.DRIVING TIME & TEMPERATURE DESCRIBINGTemperature Mlnimum Time Prior To Driving The Vehicle 35 °C (95 °F) 1.5 Hours 20 °C (68 °F) 5 Hours 5 °C (41 °F) 24 Hours - INSPECT FOR LEAK AND REPAIR
- Conduct a leak test after the hardening time has elapsed.
- Seal any leak with sealant.

- INSTALL REAR No. 1 SEAT OUTER BELT SHOULDER ANCHOR
- Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf°Cm, 31 ft.lbf)
- INSTALL No. 2 REAR WINDOW SIDE GARNISH
- w/Rear No. 2 seat:
INSTALL REAR No. 2 SEAT OUTER BELT SHOULDER ANCHOR
- Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf°Cm, 31 ft.lbf)
- INSTALL QUARTER TRIM PANEL
- INSTALL REAR No. 1 SEAT OUTER BELT FLOOR ANCHOR
- Torque: 42 N.m (430 kgf°Cm, 31 ft.lbf)
- w/Rear No. 2 seat:
