Quarter Window Glass: Removal
HINT:
A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart. (See SPECIFIED TORQUE FOR STANDARD BOLTS )
- REMOVE REAR SEAT
- REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
- REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE
- REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM
- Remove the bolt and rear seat outer belt floor anchor.
- Remove the 5 screws.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the deck side trim.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- LH side:
Disconnect the connector.
- REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH
- Remove the bolt and rear seat outer belt shoulder anchor.
- Remove the 3 clips.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the roof side inner garnish.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW GLASS
- Using a knife, cut off the molding as shown in Fig 3.NOTE: Do not damage the body with the knife.
- Remove the remaining molding.
- Push a piano wire through between the body and glass from the interior.
- Tie both wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects.
HINT:
Apply protective tape to the outer surface to keep the surface from being scratched.

NOTE: When separating the glass, take care not to damage the paint and exterior. - Cut the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around it.
HINT:
Cut the adhesive areas as shown in Fig 5, leaving the adhesive where the clips are.
- Push the piano wire through as shown in Fig 6, cut off the adhered part to the clips.
- Remove the glass.NOTE: Leave the adhesive on the body as much as possible when cutting off the glass.
- Using a knife, cut off the molding as shown in Fig 3.
