Roof Headlining: Removal

HINT:

A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart. (See SPECIFIED TORQUE FOR STANDARD BOLTS )

  1. REMOVE REAR SEATS 
  2. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE 

    Using a screwdriver, disengage the 5 clips and remove the finish plate.

    HINT:

    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  3. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATES 

    Using a screwdriver, disengage the 6 claws and remove the scuff plate.

    HINT:

    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  4. REMOVE ROOM LIGHT AND COVER 
    1. Using a screwdriver, pry out the room light cover.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the 2 screws and room light, then disconnect the connector.
  5. REMOVE ASSIST GRIPS AND COVERS 
  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATES 

    Using a screwdriver, disengage the 7 claws and remove the scuff plate.

    HINT:

    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  7. REMOVE SUN VISORS 

    Remove the 4 screws and 2 sun visors.

  8. REMOVE ROOF CONSOLE BOX 
    1. Using a screwdriver, pry out the roof console cover.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the 2 screws and roof console box, then disconnect the connector.

  9. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM LH 
    1. Remove the bolt and rear seat outer belt floor anchor.

      Torque: 43 N.m (440 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf) 

    2. Remove the 5 screws.
    3. Using a screwdriver, pry out the deck side trim.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    4. LH side:

      Disconnect the connector.

  10. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

  11. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH LH 
    1. Remove the bolt and rear seat outer belt shoulder anchor.

      Torque: 43 N.m (440 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf) 

    2. Remove the 3 clips.
    3. w/Curtain shield airbag:

      Remove the bolt.

    4. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 5 clips and remove the roof side inner garnish.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  12. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER GARNISH RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

  13. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH LH 
    1. Remove the bolt and front seat outer belt floor anchor.

      Torque: 43 N.m (440 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf) 

    2. Pull the garnish upward to remove it.

  14. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR LOWER GARNISH RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

  15. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH LH 
    1. Remove the bolt and front seat outer belt shoulder anchor.

      Torque: 43 N.m (440 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf) 

    2. Using a screwdriver, pry out the garnish.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  16. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR UPPER GARNISH RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

  17. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH 
    1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 clips.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the pillar garnish.
      1. Pull the pillar garnish until the clip marked A in Fig 10 stitches.
      2. Turn the clip marked A in Fig 10 90 degrees and remove the pillar garnish.

    3. w/Curtain shield airbag:

      Protect the curtain shield airbag LH.

      1. Cover the airbag with cloth or a piece of nylon approximately 700 mm (27.56 in.) x 120 mm (4.72 in.) in size. Fix the ends of the cover with tape as shown in Fig 11.
        NOTE: Cover the curtain shield airbag with the protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

  18. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH 

    HINT:

    Use the same procedures described for the LH side.

  19. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING 
    1. Using a screwdriver, remove the roof headlining trim garnish.

      HINT:

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    2. Remove the 2 sun visor holders.
    3. Remove the 4 room partition net hooks.
    4. w/o Curtain shield airbag:

      Remove the 4 clips and roof headlining.

    5. w/Curtain shield airbag:

      Remove the 2 clips and roof headlining.
