Inspection Procedure

HINT:

Start the inspection from step 1 when using the hand-held tester and start from step 2 when not using the hand-held tester.

1. Read value of hand-held tester (transponder key ECU (switch condition)). 

   PREPARATION: 

   1. Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3.
   2. Turn the ignition switch ON with the key with which the engine does not start.

      CHECK: 

      Select the item "KEY SW" on the hand-held tester.

      OK: 

      MONITOR DISPLAY CONDITION
      
      

      Monitor Display	Condition
      OFF	Key is in ignition key cylinder
      ON	No key in ignition key cylinder

   1. NG : Go to step 2. 
   2. OK : Replace transponder key ECU. 
2. Inspect unlock warning switch (See  INSPECTION  ). 
   1. NG : Replace unlock warning switch. 
   2. OK : Go to next step. 
3. Check harness and connector between transponder key ECU and unlock warning switch, and unlock warning switch and body ground. (See  HOW TO USE THE DIAGNOSTIC CHART AND INSPECTION PROCEDURE  ). 
   1. NG : Repair or replace harness or connector. 
   2. OK : Replace transponder key ECU.
