Power Steering Gear: Inspection

NOTE: When using a vise, do not overtighten it.
  1. INSPECT STEERING RACK 
    1. Using a dial indicator, check the rack for runout, teeth wear and damage.

      Maximum runout: 0.15 mm (0.006 in.)

    2. Check the back surface for wear and damage.

      If necessary, replace the steering rack.
