Section 593 (Power Transistor (For Rear A/C)): Inspection
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Toyota Sequoia. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- REMOVE REAR SEAT OUTER BELT FLOOR ANCHORS
- REMOVE BACK DOOR SCUFF PLATE
- REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
- REMOVE REAR WINDOW SIDE GARNISH
- REMOVE REAR QUARTER TRIM PANEL RH
- REMOVE REAR POWER TRANSISTOR
- Disconnect the connector.
- Remove the 2 screws and rear power transistor.
- INSPECT POWER TRANSISTOR OPERATION
- Connect the positive (+) lead to terminal 1 through a 12 V - 3.4 W test bulb and negative (-) lead to terminal 4.
- Check the test bulb lights up when another positive (+) lead is connected to terminal 2 through a 12 V - 3.4 W test bulb.
If operation is not as specified, replace the power transistor.
- INSPECT POWER TRANSISTOR RESISTANCE
Measure resistance between terminals 3 and 4.
Standard resistance: 2.0 - 2.4 kΩ.
If resistance is not as specified, replace the power transistor.
- INSTALL REAR POWER TRANSISTOR
- INSTALL REAR QUARTER TRIM PANEL RH
- INSTALL REAR WINDOW SIDE GARNISH
- INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
- INSTALL BACK DOOR SCUFF PLATE
- INSTALL REAR SEAT OUTER BELT FLOOR ANCHORS
