Automatic Light Control Sensor Circuit

  1. Connector Disconnected -  Disconnect the connector from the sensor and inspect the connector on the wiring harness side. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . See IDENTIFYING AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR CIRCUIT (CONNECTOR DISCONNECTED)  table. If the circuit is as specified, go to step  2. If the circuit is not as specified, inspect the circuit connected to other parts.
    IDENTIFYING AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR CIRCUIT (CONNECTOR DISCONNECTED)

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    3 - Ground Constant Continuity
    1 - Ground Ignition Switch LOCK Or ACC No Voltage
    1 - Ground Ignition Switch ON B+ Voltage
    4 - Ground Ignition Switch LOCK Or ACC No Voltage
    4 - Ground Ignition Switch ON 5.2-9.0 Volts
  2. NOTE: Make sure ignition switch is ON, light control switch AUTO and the vehicle's surroundings are bright.
  3. Connector Connected -  Connect the wiring harness side connector to the sensor and inspect the wiring harness side connector from the back side. See CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . See INSPECTING AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR CIRCUIT (CONNECTOR CONNECTED)  table. If the circuit is as specified, try replacing the sensor with a new one. If the circuit is not as specified, inspect the circuit connected to other parts.
    INSPECTING AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR CIRCUIT (CONNECTOR CONNECTED)

    Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
    3 - Ground Constant Continuity
    1 - Ground Ignition Switch LOCK Or ACC No Voltage
    1 - Ground Ignition Switch ON 9.5 Volts Or More
    ..... Vehicle Is Under The Direct Sun Light (Sensor Is Not Covered) Taillight & Headlight Are ON
