Section 593 (Rear A/C Unit): Inspection

  1. INSPECT EVAPORATOR 
    1. Check evaporator fins for blockage.

      If the fins are clogged, clean them with compressed air.

      NOTE: Never use water to clean the evaporator.
    2. Check fitting for cracks or scratches.

    If necessary, repair or replace.

  2. INSPECT HEATER RADIATOR 

    Inspect fins for blockage.

    If the fins are clogged, clean them with compressed air.

  3. INSPECT WATER VALVE SERVOMOTOR CIRCUIT (See  DTC 47 WATER VALVE DAMPER CONTROL SERVOMOTOR CIRCUIT  ) 
  4. INSPECT AIR OUTLET SERVOMOTOR OPERATION

    1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 7 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 8.
    2. Connect the negative (-) lead from the battery to each terminal and check that the shaft rotates at each position, as shown in the illustration.
