Brake Actuator Assembly: Replacement

DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
NOTE: Wash brake fluid off immediately if it adheres to any painted surface.
REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET
1. Using SST, disconnect the 6 brake tubes from the actuator with bracket.

2. Use tags or make a memo to identify the places to reconnect.

3. Pull the lock lever upward.
4. Disconnect the actuator connector.

5. Remove the 2 bolts, the nut and the actuator with bracket.
  NOTE: Be careful not to damage the brake tubes and wire harness.

REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY
1. Remove the 2 nuts and the brake actuator assy from the brake actuator bracket.
INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY
1. Install the brake actuator assy with the 2 nuts.
  Torque: 5.4 NVm (55 kgfVcm, 48 in.Vlbf)
INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET
1. Install the actuator with bracket and the 2 bolts and the nut.
  Torque: 19 NVm (194 kgfVcm, 14 ftVlbf)
  
  NOTE: Be careful not to damage the brake tubes and wire harness.
2. Connect the actuator connector.

3. Using SST, connect each brake tube to correct positions of the actuator with bracket, as shown in the illustration.
  SST 09023-00100
  
  Torque: 15 NVm (155 kgfVcm, 11 ftVlbf)

FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID (See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM )
BLEED MASTER CYLINDER (See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM )

CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE
CHECK FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR (See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM )
CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
PERFORM YAW RATE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION (See PRE-CHECK )
CHECK BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH HAND-HELD TESTER (See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION )
