Body & Frame: Windows: Windshield: Removal

  1. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR 
    1. Push the (a) part in the direction indicated by the arrow marks and remove the cover.
    2. Pushing the claw in the (b) direction, slide the inner rear view mirror in the (c) direction and remove it.
  2. REMOVE SUN VISORS AND HOLDERS

  3. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH 
    1. Pry out the clips by your hand.
    2. Pull the garnish upward to remove it.
    3. Remove the other using the same procedures described above.
  4. REMOVE WIPER ARMS 

    Remove the 2 wiper arm head caps, 2 nuts and 2 wiper arms.

  5. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVERS 
    1. Remove the hood to cowl top seal.
    2. Remove the cowl top ventilator center.
    3. Remove the 7 clips, then pull out the cowl top ventilator louver RH and LH.

  6. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP 
  7. REMOVE FRONT SIDE OF ROOF HEADLINING 

    Sedan model: (See  REMOVAL  or  REMOVAL  ) 

    Hatchback model: (See  REMOVAL  ) 

  8. REMOVE WINDSHIELD MOULDING 
    1. Using a knife, cut off the moulding as shown in Fig 3 .
      NOTE: Do not damage the body with the knife. 
    2. Remove the remaining moulding.

  9. REMOVE WINDSHIELD GLASS 
    1. Push piano wire through between the body and glass from the interior.
    2. Tie objects that can serve as handle (for example, wooden blocks) to all wire ends.

      HINT:

      Apply protective tape to the outer surface to prevent the surface from being scratched.

      NOTE: When separating the glass, be careful not to damage the paint and interior and exterior ornaments. To prevent scratching the safety pad when removing the windshield, place a plastic sheet between the piano wire and safety pad.
