Body & Frame: Windows: Windshield: Removal
- REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR
- Push the (a) part in the direction indicated by the arrow marks and remove the cover.
- Pushing the claw in the (b) direction, slide the inner rear view mirror in the (c) direction and remove it.
- REMOVE SUN VISORS AND HOLDERS
- REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH
- Pry out the clips by your hand.
- Pull the garnish upward to remove it.
- Remove the other using the same procedures described above.
- REMOVE WIPER ARMS
Remove the 2 wiper arm head caps, 2 nuts and 2 wiper arms.
- REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVERS
- Remove the hood to cowl top seal.
- Remove the cowl top ventilator center.
- Remove the 7 clips, then pull out the cowl top ventilator louver RH and LH.
- REMOVE ASSIST GRIP
- REMOVE FRONT SIDE OF ROOF HEADLINING
Sedan model: (See REMOVAL or REMOVAL )
Hatchback model: (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE WINDSHIELD MOULDING
- Using a knife, cut off the moulding as shown in Fig 3
.NOTE: Do not damage the body with the knife.
- Remove the remaining moulding.
- Using a knife, cut off the moulding as shown in Fig 3
.
- REMOVE WINDSHIELD GLASS
- Push piano wire through between the body and glass from the interior.
- Tie objects that can serve as handle (for example, wooden blocks) to all wire ends.
HINT:
Apply protective tape to the outer surface to prevent the surface from being scratched.
NOTE: When separating the glass, be careful not to damage the paint and interior and exterior ornaments. To prevent scratching the safety pad when removing the windshield, place a plastic sheet between the piano wire and safety pad.
