Instrument Panel: Removal
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATES
- REMOVE COWL SIDE BOARDS
- REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVERS
- REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH
- Using a screwdriver, remove the front pillar garnish.
NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- w/ Tweeter speaker:
- Disconnect the connector.
- Employ the same manner described above to the other side.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the front pillar garnish.
- REMOVE STEERING WHEEL PAD (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE STEERING WHEEL (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE COMBINATION SWITCH (See REMOVAL )
- REMOVE LOWER FINISH PANEL
- Remove the 2 screws and hood open lever.
- Remove the 2 bolts and lower finish panel then disconnect the connector.
- REMOVE NO.1 SAFETY PAD INSERT
Remove the 2 bolts and insert.
- REMOVE No. 2 FINISH PANEL
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the No. 2 finish panel.
NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- DISCONNECT AIRBAG CONNECTOR
- Using a screwdriver, pry out the glove compartment door finish plate.NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Remove the airbag connector from the glove compartment door finish plate.
- Disconnect the airbag connector.NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
- Using a screwdriver, pry out the glove compartment door finish plate.
- REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT
Remove the 3 nuts, 2 screws and glove compartment.
- REMOVE CENTER CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
Using a screwdriver, remove the panel, then disconnect the connectors.
NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. - REMOVE LOWER CENTER CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
- Remove the 4 screws and panel, then disconnect the connector.
- Remove the front ash receptacle box from the panel.
- Remove the 2 screws and front ash receptacle retainer from the panel.
- REMOVE UPPER CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the panel, then disconnect the connectors.NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- REMOVE KEY FINISH PLATE
- REMOVE CLUSTER FINISH PANEL
- Remove the 5 screws.
- Using a screwdriver, remove the panel, then disconnect the connectors.NOTE: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Remove the 2 screws and heater blower switch from the panel.
- Remove the clock.
- REMOVE COMBINATION METER
- REMOVE RADIO ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE HEATER CONTROL ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL (Auto A/C) or REMOVAL (Manual A/C))
- REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL
- Remove the 2 bolts from the passenger airbag assembly.
Torque: 20 N.m (205 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)
- Remove the 5 bolts, nut and instrument panel, then disconnect the connectors.
- Remove the 2 bolts from the passenger airbag assembly.
- REMOVE AUDIO AMPLIFIER
- REMOVE NO.1 AND No. 2 BRACES
- REMOVE No. 2 COWL BRACE
Torque: 20 N.m (205 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)
