Power Mirror Control System: Inspection

  1. w/o Retract Mirror Left Side: INSPECT MIRROR SWITCH

    SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Switch Position Tester Connection Specified Condition
    OFF - No Continuity
    UP 4 - 8, 6 - 7 Continuity
    DOWN 4 - 7, 6 - 8 Continuity
    LEFT 5 - 8, 6 - 7 Continuity
    RIGHT 5 - 7, 6 - 8 Continuity
  2. Right Side: INSPECTION MIRROR SWITCH INSPECTION 
    SPECIFIED CONDITION

    Switch Position Tester Connection Specified Condition
    OFF - No Continuity
    UP 3 -8, 6 -7 Continuity
    DOWN 3 - 7, 6 - 8 Continuity
    LEFT 2 -8, 6 -8 Continuity
    RIGHT 2 - 7, 6 - 8 Continuity

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

  3. w/Retract Mirror Left Side: INSPECT MIRROR SWITCH INSPECTION

    MIRROR SWITCH CONTINUITY REFERENCE

    Switch Position Tester Connection Specified Condition
    OFF - No Continuity
    UP 4 - 8, 6 - 7 Continuity
    DOWN 4 - 7, 6 - 8 Continuity
    LEFT 5 - 8, 6 - 7 Continuity
    RIGHT 5 - 7, 6 - 8 Continuity
  4. Right side: INSPECTION MIRROR SWITCH INSPECTION 
    MIRROR SWITCH CONTINUITY REFERENCE

    Switch Position Tester Connection Specified Condition
    OFF - No Continuity
    UP 3 - 8, 6 - 7 Continuity
    DOWN 3 - 7, 6 - 8 Continuity
    LEFT 5 - 8, 6 - 7 Continuity
    RIGHT 5 - 7, 6 - 8 Continuity

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

  5. INSPECTION MIRROR SWITCH INSPECTION 
    MIRROR SWITCH CONTINUITY REFERENCE

    Switch Position Tester Connection Specified Condition
    DRIVE 7-9, 8-10 Continuity
    RETRACT 7 - 10, 8 -9 Continuity

    If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

  6. w/ Retract Mirror: INSPECT MIRROR MOTOR OPERATION 
    1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 4 and negative (-) lead to terminal 5. Check that the mirror turns leftward.

    2. Reverse the polarity, check that the mirror turns rightward.

    3. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 6 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 5. Check that the mirror turns upward.

    4. Reverse the polarity, check that the mirror turns downward.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.

  7. w/o Retract Mirror: INSPECT MIRROR MOTOR OPERATION 
    1. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 3 and negative (-) lead to terminal 1. Check that the mirror turns leftward.

    2. Reverse the polarity, check that the mirror turns rightward.

    3. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1. Check that the mirror turns upward.

    4. Reverse the polarity, check that the mirror turns downward.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.

  8. INSPECT ELECTRICAL RETRACT MOTOR OPERATION 
    1. When driving position:
      1. (1) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and negative (-) lead to terminal 2, check that the mirror operations at retract position.
      2. (2) Reverse the polarity, check that the mirror does not operate.

      If operation is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.

    2. Between driving position and retract position:
      1. (1) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and negative (-) lead to terminal 2, check that the mirror operates at retract position.
      2. (2) Reverse the polarity, check that the mirror operate at return position (Stopping at driving position).

      If operation is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.

    3. When retract position:
      1. (1) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and negative (-) lead to terminal 2, check that the mirror does not operates.
      2. (2) Reverse the polarity, check that the mirror operate at return position (Stopping at driving position).

      If operation is not as specified, replace the mirror assembly.
