Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK SECURITY INDICATOR LAMP ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the security indicator lamp assembly.
    2. Check that the security indicator lamp comes on when connecting the positive (+) lead to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2 of the connector.

      Standard:

    1. NG : REPLACE SECURITY INDICATOR LAMP ASSEMBLY 
    2. OK : Go To Next step. 
  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (ECM - SECURITY INDICATOR LAMP ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the E5*1 or E6*2 ECM connector.

      *1: 1MZ-FE Engine

      *2: 2AZ-FE Engine

    2. Disconnect the T5 security indicator lamp connector.

    3. Check the continuity between the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard: 

    E5 OR E6 HARNESS SIDE CONNECTOR CONTINUITY

    Symbols (Terminal No.) Specified Condition
    IMLD (E5-22)(1) Or IMLD (E6-26) (2) <--> - (T5-2) Continuity
    (1) 1MZ-FE Engine
    (2) 2AZ-FE Engine
    1. NG : CHECK AND REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    2. OK : Go To Next step. 
  3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SECURITY INDICATOR LAMP ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the T5 security indicator lamp connector.

    2. Check the continuity between the wire harness side connector and body ground.

      Standard: 

    CONTINUITY CHECK

    Symbols (Terminal No.) Specified Condition
    - (T5-1) <--> Body Ground Continuity
    1. NG : CHECK AND REPLACE SECURITY INDICATOR LAMP ASSEMBLY 
    2. OK : CHECK AND REPLACE ECM
