Body Control Ecu Basic Inspection

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Toyota Camry and 2002 Toyota Camry. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Basic inspection confirms that body control ECU is functional and able to identify faults in systems and circuits it monitors. Before proceeding, ensure battery open circuit voltage is 10-14 volts. If battery open circuit voltage is not 10-14 volts, charge or replace battery as required.
  2. Ensure OPEN DOOR indicator light illuminates when any door is opened. If indicator operates properly, proceed to RETRIEVING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES . If indicator does not operate properly, diagnose and repair OPEN DOOR indicator light. See OPEN DOOR INDICATOR LIGHT  under COMPONENT TESTS.
