Quarter Window ASSY RR LH: Replacement
NOTE:
- The installation is in the reverse order of the removal. However, when there is a special point concerning the installation, it is indicated.
- On the LH side, use the same procedures as on the RH side.
- REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSY LH (See REAR SEAT ASSY )
- REMOVE REAR SEAT BACK ASSY LH (See REAR SEAT ASSY )
- REMOVE ROOF SIDE GARNISH ASSY INNER LH (See
ROOF HEADLINING
)
- Remove the deck board.
- Remove the deck board assy.
- Remove the rear floor mat support plate.
- Remove the back door weatherstrip.
- Remove the rear door scuff plate LH.
- Remove the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH.
- Remove the luggage hold belt striker assy, (h) Remove deck trim cover rear.
- Remove the deck floor box LH
- Remove deck trim side panel assy LH.
- Remove the quarter trim cover RH.
- Remove the tonneau cover hook B.
- Remove the roof side garnish assy inner LH.
- REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW ASSY RR LH
- Disconnect the connectors.
- Pass a piano wire through between the body and glass from the interior.
- Tie both wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects.NOTE:
- When separating the glass, take care not to damage the paint and the interior and exterior ornaments.
- To prevent scratching the safety pad when removing the glass, place a plastic sheet between the piano wire and safety pad.
- Cut off the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the glass.
- Remove the glass.
NOTE: Leave as much adhesive on the body as possible when removing the glass. - CLEAN QUARTER WINDOW ASSY RR LH
- Clean the outer circumference of the glass with white gasoline.
NOTE:- Do not touch the glass surface after cleaning it.
- Be careful not to damage the body.
- INSTALL STOPPER CUSHION
- Install new stopper cushion to the body, as shown in Fig 4.
- INSTALL QUARTER WINDOW ASSY RR LH
- Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body.
- Using a knife, cut away any rough adhesive on the contact surface of the body to shape the surface.
- Clean the contact surface of the body with a piece of shop rag saturated with cleaner.
NOTE:Leave as much adhesive on the body as possible.
NOTE:Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the body.
- Using a brush, coat the exposed part of the body on the vehicle side with Primer M.

NOTE:- Dry the primer coating for 3 minutes or more.
- Do not coat the adhesive with Primer M.
- Do not keep any of the opened Primer M for later use.
- Dry the primer coating for 3 minutes or more.
- Do not keep any of the opened Primer G for later use.
- Using a brush or sponge, coat the edge of the glass and the contact surface with Primer G.DIMENSION
A 20.0 mm (0.787 in.) B 26.0 mm (1.024 in.) C 5.0 mm (0.197 in.) - Apply adhesive.
Adhesive: Part No. 08850-00801 or equivalent
- Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle as shown in Fig 8.
NOTE:
After cutting off the tip, use all adhesive within the time described in TACK FREE TIME .
TACK FREE TIMETemperature Tackfree Time 35°C (95°F) 15 minutes 20°C (68°F) 100 minutes 5°C (41°F) 8 hours - Load the sealer gun with the cartridge.
- Coat the glass with adhesive as shown in Fig 8.DIMENSION
A 12.0 mm (0.472 in.) B 8.0 mm (0.315 in.) C 13.0 mm (0.512 in.) D 13.0 mm (0.512 in.) E 8.0 mm (0.315 in.)
- Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle as shown in Fig 8.
- Install the glass to the body.
- Hold quarter window assy in place securely with protective tape or equivalent to the body until the adhesive hardens.NOTE:
- Dry the primer coating for 3 minutes or more.
- Check that the clips are attached to the body correctly.
- Check the clearance between the body and glass.
- Lightly press the glass front surface for close contact.
- Using a scraper, remove any excess or protruding adhesive.
Apply adhesive onto the glass rim.
CAUTION: Take care not to drive the vehicle during the time described in MINIMUM TIME .MINIMUM TIMETemperature Minimum time prior to driving the vehicle 35°C (95°F) 1.5 hours 20°C (68°F) 5 hours 5°C (41°F) 24 hours - Hold quarter window assy in place securely with protective tape or equivalent to the body until the adhesive hardens.
NOTE:If the area other than the specified is coated by accident, wipe off the primer with a clean shop rag before it dries.

NOTE: - Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body.
- INSPECT FOR LEAKS AND REPAIR
- Conduct a leak test after the adhesive has completely hardened.
- Seal any leaks with auto glass sealer.
NOTE:
Apply protective tape to the outer surface to prevent the surface from being scratched.
