Cooling Unit: Removal

    NOTE:

    At the time of installation, please refer to the following items.

    • Evacuate air from refrigeration system.
    • Charge system with refrigerant and inspect for leakage of refrigerant.

  1. Discharge refrigerant from refrigeration system  .

    Specified amount:

    • Single A/C: 750 +/- 50 g (26.45 +/- 1.76 oz.)  .
    • Dual A/C: 1050 +/- 50 g (37.03 +/- 1.76 oz.)  .
  2. Disconnect liquid and suction tube  .
    1. Using SST, remove the 2 piping clamps. See Fig 1.

        WARNING: Confirm the direction of the piping clamp claw and SST using the illustration showing on the caution label.

      1. Insert SST to piping clamp. See Fig 2.
      2. CAUTION: Be careful not to deform the tubes, when pushing SST.
      3. Push down SST and release the clamp lock. See Fig 3.
      4. Pull SST slightly and push the release lever, then remove the piping clamp with SST. See Fig 3.
      5. Remove the piping clamp from SST.
    2. Disconnect the both tubes.

    CAUTION:
    • Do not use tools like screwdriver to remove the tube. See Fig 4.
    • Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.

    NOTE: At the time of reassembly, please refer to the following item.
    • Lubricate 4 new O-rings with compressor oil and install them to the tubes. See Fig 5.
    • After connection, check the fitting for claw of the piping clamp.
  3. Remove console upper panel  .
  4. Remove rear console box  .
  5. Remove front console box  .
  6. Remove glove compartment parts  .
  7. Remove lower No. 2 finish panel  .
  8. Remove lower left side finish panel  .
  9. Remove  lower cover  .
  10. Remove No. 4 heater to register duct  .

  11. REMOVE COOLING UNIT  :
    1. Disconnect the connectors.
    2. Remove the 3 screws and a bolt, then the cooling unit. See Fig 6.
