Cooling Unit: Removal

- Evacuate air from refrigeration system.
- Charge system with refrigerant and inspect for leakage of refrigerant.
- Discharge refrigerant from refrigeration system
.
Specified amount:
- Single A/C: 750 +/- 50 g (26.45 +/- 1.76 oz.) .
- Dual A/C: 1050 +/- 50 g (37.03 +/- 1.76 oz.) .
- Disconnect liquid and suction tube

- Using SST, remove the 2 piping clamps. See Fig 1.

- Insert SST to piping clamp. See Fig 2.
- Push down SST and release the clamp lock. See Fig 3.
- Pull SST slightly and push the release lever, then remove the piping clamp with SST. See Fig 3.
- Remove the piping clamp from SST.
WARNING: Confirm the direction of the piping clamp claw and SST using the illustration showing on the caution label.CAUTION: Be careful not to deform the tubes, when pushing SST. - Disconnect the both tubes.
CAUTION:- Do not use tools like screwdriver to remove the tube. See Fig 4.
- Cap the open fittings immediately to keep moisture or dirt out of the system.
NOTE: At the time of reassembly, please refer to the following item.- Lubricate 4 new O-rings with compressor oil and install them to the tubes. See Fig 5.
- After connection, check the fitting for claw of the piping clamp.
- Using SST, remove the 2 piping clamps. See Fig 1.
- Remove console upper panel .
- Remove rear console box .
- Remove front console box .
- Remove glove compartment parts .
- Remove lower No. 2 finish panel .
- Remove lower left side finish panel .
- Remove lower cover .
- Remove No. 4 heater to register duct .
- REMOVE COOLING UNIT
:
- Disconnect the connectors.
- Remove the 3 screws and a bolt, then the cooling unit. See Fig 6.
