Section 371 (Lighting System): Precaution
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Toyota Highlander. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- PRECAUTION OF HEADLIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT
- When the halogen lamp (headlight and front fog light) surface is contaminated by oil, the lamp service life is shortened as it becomes hot when it is turned on.
- Since the internal pressure of a halogen lamp bulb (headlight and front fog light) is high, carefully handle it as dropping a bulb may cause an explosion with jumping glass chips
- When the lens are held with the bulb being removed for a long period of time, the lens may be contaminated by dirt or moisture. So being the work after preparing a new one when replacing a bulb.
- Always use a replacement bulb having the same watt rating.
- Firmly reinstall the socket after bulb replacement. Other wise, cloudy lens or invasion by water will occur.
