Exterior/Interior Trim: Windshield: Removal

  1. Remove inner rear view mirror  .
  2. Remove sun visors and holders  .
  3. W/Sliding roof, remove map light  .
  4. Remove front pillar garnish  :
    1. Pry out clips by your hand.

    2. Pull the garnish upward to remove it.
    3. Employ the same manner described above to the other side.
  5. Remove wiper arms  .
  6. Remove hood to cowl top seal  .
  7. Remove cowl louver  .
  8. Remove assist grip  .
  9. W/Sliding roof, remove sliding roof opening trim  .
  10. Remove roof headlining front side  .
  11. CAUTION: Do not damage the body with the knife.

  12. Remove windshield moulding  :

    Using a knife, cut off the moulding.

  13. CAUTION: When separating the glass, be careful not to damage the paint and interior and exterior ornaments. To prevent scratching the safety pad when removing the windshield, place a plastic sheet between the piano wire and safety pad.
  14. Remove windshield glass  :
    1. Push piano wire through between the body and glass from the interior.

    2. NOTE: Apply adhesive tape to the outer surface to keep the surface from being scratched.
    3. Tie both wire ends to a wooden block or a similar object.
    4. NOTE: Leave as much of the adhesive on the body as possible when removing the glass.

    5. Cut the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around it.
    6. Remove the glass.
