Cooling Unit: Disassembly

  1. Remove A/C Amplifier 
  2. Remove Wire Harness 
  3. Manual A/C: 
    1. Remove Blower Resistor 
      1. Remove the 2 screws and blower resistor.
  4. Auto A/C: 
    1. Remove Blower Linear Controller 
      1. Remove the 2 screws and blower linear controller.
  5. Separate Upper And Lower Unit Cases

    1. Using a knife, cut off the each packing.
    2. Remove the 3 clips and 3 screws.
    3. Separate the upper and lower unit case.
  6. Remove Evaporator From Lower Unit Case 
    NOTE: At the time of reassembly, if evaporator is replaced, add compressor oil to compressor.
    1. Add 40 - 50 cc (1.4 -1.7 fl.oz.) 
    2. Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent 
  7. Remove Thermistor 
    1. Disconnect the connector clamp.
    2. Pull out the thermistor from evaporator.

  8. Remove Expansion Valve

    Using a hexagon wrench (5.0 mm, 0.20 in.), remove the 2 bolts and separate the expansion valve and evaporator and tubes.

    1. Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in..lbf) 

    NOTE: At the time of reassembly, lubricate 4 new O-rings with compressor oil and install the tubes and valve.
