Leaf Spring: Assembly
- Drill off the head of the head of the rivet and drive it out. See Fig 1.
- Install a new rivet into the holes of the spring leaf and clip. Then rivet with a press.
- Align the leaf spring holes and secure the leaves with a vise.
- Install the spring center bolt and nut. Torque to 44 N.m (33 ft. lbs.).
- Using a hammer, bend the spring clips into the position. See Fig 2.
