Throttle Position Sensor

Disconnect Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) harness connector. Apply vacuum to throttle valve opener. Measure resistance between terminals No. 1 (Light Green wire) and No. 3 (Yellow wire) of TPS harness connector. With throttle fully closed, resistance should be 0.2-5.7 k/ohms. With throttle fully open, resistance should be 2.0-10.2 k/ohms. Measure resistance between terminals No. 1 (Light Green wire) and No. 2 (Green/Yellow wire, 4-cylinder; Green/Black wire, 6-cylinder). Resistance should be 2.5-5.9 k/ohms at all times. If readings are not as specified, replace throttle position sensor.
