Leaf Spring Assembly: Installation

    NOTE: Do not tighten nut at this time.
  1. Install the shackle pin, plate and rear leaf spring. Install the nut, washer and hanger pin bolt.
    2. NOTE: Do not tighten nut at this time.
  2. Install the spring seats, U-bolts, mounting nuts and washers.
  3. Install the shock absorber to the spring seat. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Lower the vehicle and bounce it up and down to stabilize.
  5. Tighten the U-bolts and shackle pin bolts. Tighten remaining bolts/nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .


    NOTE: Do not tighten nut at this time.
  1. Install the shackle pin, plate and rear leaf spring. Install the nut, washer and hanger pin bolt.
    2. NOTE: Do not tighten nut at this time.
  2. Install the spring seats, U-bolts, mounting nuts and washers.
  3. Install the shock absorber to the spring seat. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Lower the vehicle and bounce it up and down to stabilize.
  5. Tighten the U-bolts and shackle pin bolts. Tighten reamining bolts/nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
