Test No. 12: Only One Interior Light Does Not Operate

  1. Interior light system consists of personal light and interior light. See Figure. Interior light may also be referred to as dome light or room light and personal light may also be referred to as front personal light. Check bulb for light which does not operate. If bulb is okay, go to next step. If bulb is defective, replace bulb and recheck light operation.
  2. Check wiring harness and electrical connectors between light for interior light system which does not operate and body Electronic Control Unit (ECU). See WIRING DIAGRAMS in ILLUMINATION/INTERIOR LIGHTS article. Body ECU is located at driver's side of instrument panel. See Figure. Repair wiring harness or electrical connector as necessary.
