Lower Ball Joint

  1. Flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times, before installing the nut. See Fig 1.
  2. Using a torque wrench, turn the nut continuously at a rate of 3-5 seconds per one turn and take the torque reading on the 5th turn. The torque reading should be 8.7-30.0 INCH lbs. (0.98-3.43 N.m). If torque reading is not as specified, replace ball joint.
