Section 352 (Engine Cooling System): Thermostat: Installation

Place thermostat in cylinder block .
1. Install a new gasket to the thermostat.
2. Install the thermostat with the jiggle valve upward.

  NOTE: The jiggle valve may be set within 10° of either side of the prescribed position.
Install water inlet .

Install the water inlet with the 2 nuts.
1. Torque: 9 N.m (90 kgf.cm, 80 in..lbf)
Install generator (See CHARGING SYSTEM ) .
Install drive belt (See CHARGING SYSTEM ) .
Fill with engine coolant (See REPLACEMENT ) .
Start engine and check for leaks .
Recheck engine coolant level .
