RAV4, Sequoia & Tundra

NOTE: System circuit breaker opens 4-40 seconds after window operation stops. Ensure circuit test is performed before circuit breaker operates.
  1. To test system with an ammeter, disconnect electrical connector from master switch. On RAV4, connect positive ammeter lead to connector terminal No. 4 on wire harness side of connector. Connect negative ammeter lead to negative battery terminal. Connect positive battery lead to connector terminal No. 9 on wire harness side of connector. See Figure.
  2. NOTE: On 4Runner, use 14-pin master switch connector.
  3. On Sequoia and 4Runner, connect positive ammeter lead to connector terminal No. 1 on wire harness side. Connect negative ammeter lead to negative battery terminal. Connect positive battery lead to connector terminal No. 2 on wire harness. See Figure. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  4. On Tundra, connect positive ammeter lead to connector terminal No. 3 on wire harness side. Connect negative ammeter lead to negative battery terminal. Connect positive battery lead to connector terminal No. 4 on wire harness side. See Figure.
  5. To test system with an ammeter with a current-measuring probe, remove master switch with connector connected. On RAV4, attach a current-measuring probe to connector terminal No. 5 on wire harness side. On Tundra, attach probe to connector terminal No. 9 on wire harness side. On 4Runner, attach probe to connector terminal No. 3 on wire harness side. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Set power window switch in down position.
  6. As window goes down, current flow should be approximately 7 amps. Current should increase to approximately 14.5 amps when window stops going down. If operation is not as specified, replace master switch. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
