Inclination Sensor (PRIUS)

NOTE: On Prius, when installing instrument cluster assembly, perform programming procedure to ensure correct inclination sensor and display operation. See Fig 1.
  1. Ensure vehicle is parked on level surface. Press TRIP switch to ON position. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Turn TRIP switch off and on 2 times within 5 seconds (T1). See Fig 1. Within 5 seconds, perform next step.
  2. Turn TRIP switch off within 5 seconds (T2). Within 5 seconds, turn on TRIP meter (T3) and keep on for at least 5 seconds (T4). See Fig 1. If TRIP switch is turned off in less than 5 seconds when establishing inclination sensor setting mode, system returns to normal mode.
  3. Keeping conditions of step  2 constant will maintain inclination sensor setting mode. Inclination sensor data is displayed on ODO display. See Fig 1.
  4. With inclination sensor setting mode still operating, turn TRIP switch off. Within 5 second, turn TRIP meter on again for at least 5 seconds (T5). Data obtained in analog-to-digital conversion is recorded in EEPROM.
  5. Data recorded in EEPROM is displayed in 3 digits to right side of display for 5 seconds. See Fig 1. If ignition switch is turned off during data display period, set value will not be recorded and procedure must be repeated.
