Inclination Sensor (PRIUS)
NOTE:
On Prius, when installing instrument cluster assembly, perform programming procedure to ensure correct inclination sensor and display operation. See Fig 1.
- Ensure vehicle is parked on level surface. Press TRIP switch to ON position. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Turn TRIP switch off and on 2 times within 5 seconds (T1). See Fig 1. Within 5 seconds, perform next step.
- Turn TRIP switch off within 5 seconds (T2). Within 5 seconds, turn on TRIP meter (T3) and keep on for at least 5 seconds (T4). See Fig 1. If TRIP switch is turned off in less than 5 seconds when establishing inclination sensor setting mode, system returns to normal mode.
- Keeping conditions of step 2 constant will maintain inclination sensor setting mode. Inclination sensor data is displayed on ODO display. See Fig 1.
- With inclination sensor setting mode still operating, turn TRIP switch off. Within 5 second, turn TRIP meter on again for at least 5 seconds (T5). Data obtained in analog-to-digital conversion is recorded in EEPROM.
- Data recorded in EEPROM is displayed in 3 digits to right side of display for 5 seconds. See Fig 1. If ignition switch is turned off during data display period, set value will not be recorded and procedure must be repeated.
